BJP’s Tarun Chugh Urges Membership Drive in Jammu and Kashmir
In Jammu, Jammu and Kashmir, BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh has encouraged BJP workers to actively participate in a membership campaign. During a meeting with party workers, Chugh emphasized the importance of expanding the party’s reach after receiving over 14 lakh votes in the last Assembly election. He noted that the BJP’s popularity surpassed that of the National Conference, indicating a significant role for the party in the Union Territory’s administration.
Chugh urged party leaders to connect with people across all regions of Jammu and Kashmir, acknowledging the efforts made by party workers in the previous election. He highlighted the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whose vision “Sab ka saath, Sab ka Vikas” guides the BJP in the region. Chugh stressed the importance of ensuring that development programs initiated by the Prime Minister benefit everyone, especially those most in need.
The results of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, announced on October 8, saw the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference leading the alliance with 42 seats, Congress securing six, and the BJP winning 29 seats.
