BJP’s Tarun Chugh Criticizes Priyanka Gandhi’s Wayanad Candidature

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Tarun Chugh launched a strong critique against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra over her candidacy for the Wayanad Lok Sabha seat. Chugh accused Priyanka and her husband of exploiting farmers in Haryana and visiting Wayanad as tourists, indifferent to local issues. He questioned their absence during past crises like floods.

Chugh also responded to allegations that Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge was sidelined during Priyanka’s nomination filing, attributing it to his Scheduled Caste (SC) background, and accused Congress of historically disrespecting Dalits and tribals.

Priyanka Gandhi filed her nomination papers at the district collector’s office in Kalpetta, Kerala, after a roadshow with her brother Rahul Gandhi. She thanked Wayanad residents for supporting Rahul during challenging times. The Wayanad seat was vacated by Rahul Gandhi, who retained the Rae Bareli seat. The by-poll is scheduled for November 13.
