BJP’s Soumendu Adhikari Criticizes TMC’s Akhil Giri for Disrespecting Female Forest Officer

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Soumendu Adhikari has criticized Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Akhil Giri for making disrespectful remarks towards a female forest officer. Adhikari stated that such behavior has become part of TMC’s culture.

Adhikari said, “This is not the first time. Akhil Giri has made objectionable comments on our President (Droupadi Murmu) also. He should not have done that. The atrocities and objectionable comments on women have become TMC’s culture. They have said objectionable things about PM Modi and the Union Home Minister. It is their culture to threaten people.”

In a video posted by BJP West Bengal, Giri was seen threatening the on-duty woman forest officer. The BJP West Bengal questioned whether TMC leader Mamata Banerjee would take action against Giri.

On Sunday, CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya also condemned Giri’s actions, stating that Giri should have been sacked and arrested for his illegal actions. Bhattacharya mentioned that Giri prevented government employees from performing their duties and abused the officer in the presence of police officials.

Giri resigned under party pressure but refused to apologize to the official he abused.
