BJP’s Shehzad Poonawala Criticizes West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee Over Justice Demands
New Delhi, India – BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala has strongly criticized West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, accusing her of insulting protestors and doctors by saying that demanding justice is like causing unrest. Poonawala stated that nobody is safe in West Bengal except criminals.
Poonawala mentioned that the entire nation, including 140 crore Indians, is demanding justice for the daughter of West Bengal, reflecting the sentiments of President Draupadi Murmu. He accused Mamata Banerjee of prioritizing revenge over justice and questioned whether leaders like Akhilesh Yadav, Tejashwi Yadav, and Gaurav Gogoi support her statements.
Poonawala further alleged that Banerjee has caused unrest in Bengal for the past 10 years, leading to violence and assaults on women. He claimed that when the public calls for a “bandh,” they are attacked with bombs and bullets.
Additionally, Poonawala criticized leaders of the INDIA alliance, including Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, for not questioning Banerjee’s statements about burning states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Northeast, and Odisha.
BJP leader Anil Vij also criticized Banerjee, suggesting that the smoke from arson in Bangladesh has affected her judgment. He emphasized the need for her to be treated quickly.
The murder and alleged sexual assault of a female trainee doctor on August 9 at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital have caused national outrage, leading to many rallies across different states.
