BJP’s Praveen Shankar Kapoor Challenges Arvind Kejriwal on 2013 Affidavit

In New Delhi, BJP Media Head Praveen Shankar Kapoor has called on former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to publicly burn an affidavit from June 7, 2013. This affidavit, distributed widely at the time, contained Kejriwal’s promise not to accept a government bungalow, vehicle, or security. Kapoor argues that Kejriwal’s current actions contradict these promises, as he continues to use facilities meant for a Member of Parliament, despite being only an MLA.

Kapoor’s letter suggests that Kejriwal’s attachment to these facilities is inappropriate and questions his moral standing. He urged Kejriwal to burn the affidavit outside his new residence at 5 Ferozshah Road to address public concerns.

Recently, Kejriwal vacated his previous residence at 6, Flagstaff Road, moving to a bungalow at 5 Ferozshah Road, allocated to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal. Mittal reportedly offered the residence to Kejriwal. Kejriwal resigned as Chief Minister on September 17, with Atishi succeeding him on September 22. Kejriwal has stated he will return to the post if he receives a renewed mandate and a “certificate of honesty” from Delhi’s people in the upcoming Assembly polls.
