BJP’s Pradeep Bhandari Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Benefiting from Karnataka Corruption
In New Delhi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari has accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of benefiting from corruption in Karnataka. This accusation follows the decision by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge’s family to return a five-acre land allotted to a trust managed by his son, Rahul Kharge.
Bhandari claimed that the Karnataka Congress government is focused on corruption, taking land from the poor, and enriching family members. He questioned whether Rahul Gandhi was a ‘corruption mentor’ to Kharge and Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, suggesting that the Karnataka Congress government is the most corrupt to date.
He further alleged that Mallikarjun Kharge admitted to abusing his position to benefit his family, drawing parallels between the alleged modus operandi used by Kharge in the KIADB land issue and Siddaramaiah in the MUDA scam.
Additionally, BJP MP Praveen Khandelwal called for an investigation into the land return, suggesting it indicates possible fraud. This comes after the Enforcement Directorate booked Siddaramaiah for money laundering related to the MUDA land allotment scam, prompting his wife to offer to surrender 14 plots allotted to her.
The Mysuru Lokayukta has initiated an inquiry into the alleged illegal allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi, following a court order.
