BJP’s Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi Criticizes Congress Over Seat Sharing in Jharkhand and Maharashtra

On October 22, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi criticized the INDIA and Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliances for their seat-sharing issues in Jharkhand and Maharashtra. Naqvi claimed that these alliances, led by political families, are primarily focused on gaining power. He argued that Congress struggles to cooperate with its allies and fails to value small and regional parties, suggesting they learn from BJP and Narendra Modi.

Naqvi stated, “Be it Jharkhand or Maharashtra, there is more of ‘siyasi khurpench’ than ‘seats ka pench’. Be it Aghadi or alliance, their ‘khaandani khiladi’ have the same aspiration – to come into power.” He emphasized that Congress lacks the mindset to work harmoniously with allies.

Meanwhile, Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat met with NCP chief Sharad Pawar in Delhi to discuss seat sharing for the upcoming Maharashtra elections. Thorat is also scheduled to meet Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai.

The Election Commission of India announced that Maharashtra elections will be held on November 20, with counting on November 23. In the 2019 elections, BJP secured 105 seats, Shiv Sena 56, and Congress 44. In 2014, BJP won 122 seats, Shiv Sena 63, and Congress 42.
