BJP’s Manjinder Singh Sirsa Criticizes Congress and AAP Alliance in Haryana

New Delhi [India], September 8: Amid ongoing talks between Congress and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for a pre-poll alliance in the Haryana assembly elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa criticized both parties. He claimed they lack an agenda or policy for the state and will be defeated even if they come together.

Sirsa stated, “Congress is a party that has gone towards decline, and AAP is searching for its identity. They neither have any agenda nor any policy for the state. They just want to gain control of Haryana.” He further added, “Rahul Gandhi and Arvind Kejriwal want to keep themselves alive in politics. They will ally as they know how bad their situation is. No one will vote for them in Haryana. Despite the alliance, they will be defeated.”

Earlier, AAP state president Sushil Gupta confirmed that talks between AAP and Congress are ongoing, aiming to oust the BJP government. Gupta said, “Aam Aadmi Party is a disciplined party, being the state president of the party, I am making full preparations for 90 seats. Our workers are associated with the ‘Parivar Jodo Abhiyan’, Arvind Kejriwal’s guarantee is going from village to village, our public meetings are going on. All the leaders are preparing to oust the BJP government with full readiness.”

AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha also commented on the alliance talks, stating, “Both parties have a desire, a wish and a hope for forming an alliance and both parties will decide before September 12, which is the last day of nomination. If we don’t agree or if there is no win-win situation, we will leave it.”

The voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, with the last date for filing nominations being September 12. The counting of votes will take place on October 8. In the 2019 assembly polls, BJP emerged as the single largest party with 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats.
