In New Delhi, BJP leader Dushyant Gautam expressed strong criticism towards the Congress party and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for participating in the Wayanad Lok Sabha by-elections. Gautam stated that the people of Wayanad desire development, security, and infrastructure, which he claims were neglected by Rahul Gandhi during his tenure. He believes that the people will now support the BJP in the upcoming elections.
Additionally, BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused Priyanka Gandhi of strategically choosing to contest in Wayanad due to its significant Muslim voter base, which he claims the Gandhi family relies on for electoral success. Priyanka Gandhi recently filed her nomination, marking her electoral debut, and held a roadshow with prominent Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi.
The Wayanad seat became vacant after Rahul Gandhi was elected from Raebareli in Uttar Pradesh. The by-elections in Wayanad, along with 47 assembly seats across 15 states, are scheduled for November 13, coinciding with the first phase of assembly polls in Jharkhand.
