BJP’s Deepak Prakash Criticizes JMM as Leaders Switch Sides in Jharkhand
On Tuesday, BJP MP Deepak Prakash criticized the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) after three of its leaders joined the BJP. He claimed that JMM lacks strong leadership and relies on leaders not considered by BJP for elections. Prakash emphasized that BJP candidates, symbolized by the lotus, are favored by Jharkhand’s people for the upcoming assembly elections.
Prakash also criticized the INDIA Alliance in Jharkhand, which includes JMM, Congress, and RJD, calling it an alliance of selfishness without a vision for Jharkhand’s progress. He accused them of focusing on personal financial gains. He reminded voters of past actions by these parties, suggesting the alliance is unnatural and will fall apart after the elections.
The Election Commission of India announced that Jharkhand assembly elections will occur on November 13 and 20, with results on November 23. BJP has announced 66 candidates for 68 seats, with allies contesting the remaining seats. Congress released a list of 21 candidates, including Finance Minister Rameshwar Oraon, Ajoy Kumar, and Health Minister Banna Gupta.
