BJP’s Babulal Marandi Demands Probe into Fake Voters in Jharkhand

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) delegation led by Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi met with the Chief Election Commissioner in Delhi on Wednesday. They demanded a review and investigation into the alleged addition of fake voters to the electoral rolls in areas dominated by the Muslim population.

Marandi stated, “We complain that in a few areas of Jharkhand where the Muslim population is dominant, there is an unexpected growth in the number of voters on the electoral roll–false voters ranging from 20% to 123% have been added to the rolls. It’s wrong. If demography changes like this, it will be a danger to democracy; we all need to recognise this threat. We have asked the Election Commission to conduct an intensive review and investigation into this matter.”

When asked about the opposition calling the Union Budget a ‘Kursi Bachao budget,’ Marandi responded, “When they have nothing to say, they make such statements. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the NDA government have a clear mandate, so there is no question of safeguarding the government. Yesterday’s budget presented by the finance minister catered to youths, women, farmers, tribals, and others. It’s so balanced that the opposition has nothing left to comment on.”

Earlier, on July 20, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the BJP’s core committee meeting in Ranchi. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, and other BJP leaders were also present at the meeting. In a post on X, Amit Shah said that various topics were discussed with officials in the core committee meeting. Shah also criticised the Hemant Soren government, saying it has only cheated the people of Jharkhand. He stated that BJP workers have resolved to form a BJP government in the state to give the people their rights and make Jharkhand the number one state in the country.

“Today, in the state core committee meeting in Ranchi (Jharkhand), various topics were discussed with the officials. Hemant Soren’s government has only cheated Jharkhand. All the BJP workers have resolved that by forming a BJP government in the state, they will give the people of the state their rights and make Jharkhand the number one state in the country,” Shah said in a post on X.

While speaking at the Jharkhand BJP working committee meeting in Ranchi, Shah attacked the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, for displaying arrogance in Parliament despite losing the elections. Shah accused the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Congress alliance of indulging in corruption and working against the interests of the tribals, adding that BJP workers should go to the voters, highlighting the failures of the Hemant Soren government.
