BJP’s ANS Prasad Calls ‘One Nation, One Election’ Key to India’s 2047 Vision
Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], September 19: Tamil Nadu BJP Spokesperson ANS Prasad emphasized the importance of the ‘One Nation, One Election’ initiative in achieving India’s vision for 2047. This initiative aims to synchronize India’s electoral cycles, promoting unified governance, development, and democracy.
Prasad stated that ‘One Nation, One Election’ can ensure policy stability and effective governance, which are essential for achieving the central government’s 2047 goals. He highlighted that streamlining the election process would reduce election fatigue and conserve resources.
Calling the initiative ‘visionary,’ Prasad said it would transform India’s democratic landscape and propel the country towards unprecedented growth and prosperity. He outlined India’s 2047 vision, which includes becoming the world’s third-largest economy, achieving energy independence through renewable sources, and fostering good governance through technology and data-driven systems.
Prasad also emphasized the importance of social development, including education, healthcare, and women’s safety. He believes that the ‘One Nation, One Election’ initiative will bring a new sense of freedom and unity among citizens, strengthening India’s democratic framework.
The Cabinet has approved the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal, which includes simultaneous Lok Sabha and assembly elections, with urban body and panchayat polls to be held within 100 days. A High-level Committee on Simultaneous Elections, chaired by former President Ram Nath Kovind, submitted its report to President Droupadi Murmu earlier this year. The report, consisting of 18,626 pages, is the result of extensive consultations and research over 191 days.
Prasad concluded by stressing that unity and determination among Indians are crucial for the success of the initiative. He believes that under PM Modi’s leadership, India will achieve its full potential and become a global leader.
