In Katni, Madhya Pradesh, four members of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s Yuva Morcha have been charged for causing a disturbance at the Kotwali police station. The incident occurred late Wednesday night and was captured on video, which went viral on social media. This led to the registration of a First Information Report (FIR) against the individuals involved.

Details of the Incident

Ashish Kumar Sharma, the in-charge of Kotwali police station, explained that the disturbance began when police were closing shops at Garg intersection. An individual misbehaved with officers and was taken to the station. Subsequently, more BJP Yuva Morcha members arrived and created a nuisance.

Ongoing Investigation

The police are investigating the incident and gathering evidence. More names may be added to the list of accused if necessary.

Political Reactions

State Congress chief Jitu Patwari criticized Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, claiming that since Yadav became the Home Minister, incidents of police victimization have increased. Patwari announced that the Congress party plans to launch a series highlighting such incidents.
