BJP President Ravinder Raina Responds to Farooq Abdullah’s Remarks on Terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir

In Rajouri, Jammu and Kashmir, BJP President Ravinder Raina reacted strongly to National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah’s remarks questioning the central government’s efforts to eliminate terrorism in the region. Raina accused Abdullah and Congress leaders of making treasonous statements that support terrorists and separatists.

Raina highlighted a recent public meeting in Nowshera, where Union Home Minister Amit Shah addressed thousands of attendees, showcasing the strong support for BJP in Jammu and Kashmir. Raina asserted that BJP would win the upcoming elections and criticized the policies of the National Conference, Congress, and PDP.

Farooq Abdullah had earlier criticized the central government’s development performance in Jammu and Kashmir, comparing it unfavorably to the progress made during the period of Article 370. He referenced Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad’s remarks in the Rajya Sabha, which highlighted that Jammu and Kashmir had outperformed Gujarat in development metrics while Article 370 was in effect.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing an election rally in Nowshera, reiterated that the central government would not engage in dialogue with Pakistan until terrorism is eliminated. Shah dismissed the opposition’s demands to reinstate Article 370 and emphasized that only the Indian tricolor would wave in Jammu and Kashmir.

Shah also criticized Farooq Abdullah for his absence during critical times in Kashmir’s history and assured that no terrorists or stone pelters would be freed from jail under the BJP’s governance.

The Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections are being held in three phases, with the first phase of voting registering a 61.13% turnout. The second and third phases are scheduled for September 25 and October 1, respectively, with votes to be counted on October 8.
