BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi Criticizes Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal Over Resignation Announcement
New Delhi [India], September 15: BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, claiming his resignation announcement indicates acceptance of corruption charges in the Delhi Excise Policy case. Kejriwal was released from Tihar Jail on Friday evening after the Supreme Court granted him bail.
Trivedi stated, “He is the first Chief Minister of the country who has been banned from going to office, cannot sign any file, and cannot speak on the Delhi Excise Policy case. When you have been restricted from conducting official duties, then what is the personal reason for which you need 48 hours to resign? This shows he has admitted his guilt.”
Trivedi also alleged that Kejriwal broke his own government’s rules by allowing fireworks after his release from jail, despite a ban in Delhi. He questioned the need for 48 hours before resigning and suggested internal party conflicts might be a reason.
Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva echoed Trivedi’s sentiments, urging for early elections and accusing the AAP government of widespread corruption. Sachdeva said, “The public of Delhi wants to get rid of the AAP government. The cabinet should be dissolved, and elections should be called in November.”
In a major move, Kejriwal announced he would resign from the Chief Minister position after two days, seeking public validation of his honesty through upcoming elections. He stated, “If you think Kejriwal is honest, then vote for me, I will take over as CM after the elections. If you think I am not, don’t vote. Your vote will be a certificate for my honesty.”
