BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi Criticizes Omar Abdullah’s Remarks on Afzal Guru

New Delhi, India, September 7: BJP MP Sudhanshu Trivedi criticized National Conference leader Omar Abdullah for his comments on the hanging of Parliament attack convict Afzal Guru. Trivedi called Abdullah’s remarks an ‘expose of their nefarious, nasty, separatist anti-national design.’

Trivedi also targeted Congress, an ally of NC in the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, for supporting Abdullah’s views. He questioned whether the Supreme Court and investigating agencies were wrong in their judgment during the UPA government.

Trivedi reminded people that the Supreme Court had termed the Parliament attack as a ‘rare of the rarest crime.’ He accused Congress of showing their ‘real nefarious design through proxy’ and criticized Rahul Gandhi for supporting those who chanted slogans in favor of Afzal Guru.

BJP leader Manoj Tiwari echoed Trivedi’s sentiments, stating that Abdullah’s remarks challenge the Supreme Court’s verdict. Tiwari emphasized that Afzal Guru was hanged for planning an attack on the Parliament, which resulted in the loss of around a dozen security personnel’s lives.

Jammu and Kashmir will hold assembly elections in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with votes counted on October 8. These are the first assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370. Omar Abdullah is contesting from two constituencies – Ganderbal and Budgam. Congress and the National Conference are fighting the polls together as allies.
