BJP MP Sambit Patra Criticizes Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

In New Delhi, BJP MP Sambit Patra has criticized Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah following the resignation of Mari Gowda, the chairman of Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) and a close aide of Siddaramaiah. Patra claims this incident indicates Siddaramaiah’s involvement in the MUDA scam and demands his resignation.

Allegations of Misuse of Funds

Patra stated that the Enforcement Directorate (ED) filed a chargesheet revealing that funds from the Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Schedule Tribes Development Corporation, intended for SC/ST welfare, were diverted for political purposes during the 2024 general elections. He alleged that Congress distributed money to influence voters in the Bellary Lok Sabha seat.

Resignation and Investigation

Mari Gowda resigned citing health issues, stating that the CM instructed him to resign. He emphasized that there was no pressure on him and that the ongoing investigation would reveal the truth. The ED has booked Siddaramaiah in connection with the alleged MUDA land allotment scam.

Call for Resignation

Patra urged Siddaramaiah to resign, questioning his morality and suggesting that his actions indicate guilt. He criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for comments on reservations and linked them to the misuse of SC/ST funds in Karnataka.
