Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 24: BJP MP Jagadish Shettar has called for an impartial investigation against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in the alleged MUDA land allotment case. This demand follows the Karnataka High Court’s dismissal of Siddaramaiah’s petition challenging the Governor’s approval for an investigation.

High Court’s Decision

The Karnataka High Court, in its judgment, stated that the Governor’s order for prosecution does not suffer from non-application of mind. It is alleged that MUDA illegally allotted 14 sites to Siddaramaiah’s wife in Mysuru city. The High Court had earlier granted temporary relief to Siddaramaiah by directing a special court to defer further proceedings.

Political Reactions

Jagadish Shettar insisted that the Chief Minister should resign immediately to allow an impartial investigation. Karnataka BJP president BY Vijayendra echoed this sentiment, stating that the Chief Minister should accept the High Court’s decision and resign.

However, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar dismissed the resignation demands, calling it a political conspiracy by the BJP. He asserted that Siddaramaiah has not done anything wrong and that the party stands by him.

Congress’s Stance

The Karnataka Congress also accused the Governor of covering up complaints against BJP leaders and vowed to continue their fight against what they termed as ‘injustice’. They claimed that the Governor’s actions were politically motivated.
