BJP MP Alok Sharma Demands Action for Obscene Dance Video in Front of Rani Kamlapati Statue in Bhopal
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], September 16: The Madhya Pradesh Police have registered a case against an unknown youth for allegedly making an obscene dance video in front of the statue of Rani Kamlapati in Bhopal. The video was shot near Kamla Park, Lower Lake (Chhota Talab) and went viral on social media.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament (MP) from Bhopal, Alok Sharma, submitted a memorandum to the police demanding action against the youth. Bhopal Commissioner of Police Harinarayanachari Mishra stated, “Rani Kamlapati has a very respectable place in the glorious history of Bhopal and a video of an unknown youth performing an obscene dance in front of her statue has come to light. MP Alok Sharma has submitted a memorandum into the matter demanding strict action against the youth.”
MP Alok Sharma added, “Yesterday, the Queen of Bhopal was insulted by an unknown youth by performing an obscene dance in front of the statue of Rani Kamlapati Ji situated at Chhota Talab. Today, a memorandum was given to Police Commissioner Hari Narayanchari Mishra demanding NSA action against the culprit.”
The police have registered a case under section 296 (Obscene acts and songs) of Bharatiya Nyay Sahita (BNS), 2023. A suspected youth is being interrogated, and the situation will become clear in a few hours. Strict action will be taken in the matter.
