BJP MLA Asim Arun Visits Hathras Stampede Victims

BJP MLA Asim Arun visited Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, to meet the victims and eyewitnesses of a tragic stampede that occurred during a religious event. He mentioned that a committee led by DG Zone Agra has been formed to investigate the incident and a report will be submitted to the Chief Minister.

Arun Asim explained, “After the event, people rushed to seek blessings from the chief spokesperson, Baba Ji, causing a few to fall and others to trip over them. The narrow path led to a stampede, resulting in 116 deaths and 22 hospitalizations. Twenty bodies remain unidentified.”

An FIR has been filed, and an investigation team is probing the matter. Meanwhile, police searched Ram Kutir Charitable Trust in Mainpuri district for ‘Bhole Baba,’ who conducted the event, but he was not found.

Aligarh DM Vishak G Iyer reported that 23 bodies were brought to Aligarh, with three injured receiving treatment at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College. One patient is in critical condition.

The Uttar Pradesh government announced Rs 2 lakh compensation for the families of the deceased. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath ordered a thorough investigation, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
