BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul Criticizes West Bengal Women’s Commission and CM Mamata Banerjee Over Kolkata Rape and Murder Case

BJP MLA Agnimitra Paul launched a strong attack against the West Bengal Women’s Commission office, accusing them of not working and only flattering Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Paul stated, ‘The overall women leadership of BJP has put a symbolic lock here today because the West Bengal Women’s Commission office does not do any work. Their salaries and facilities are being provided from our tax money but today these people do not raise their voices against the atrocities being committed on the women of Bengal every day, they only flatter the Chief Minister.’

The West Bengal BJP’s women’s unit staged a protest against the RG Kar rape and murder, with women seen protesting with cut-outs of locks, accusing the state administration of inaction on law and order. Paul reacted to CM Banerjee’s statement ‘Bengal jalega, to poora Bharat jalega’, calling it the language of an anti-national and demanding UAPA charges against her. She accused Banerjee of covering up the case by calling it suicide and tampering with evidence. Paul also criticized the transfer of the main culprit Sandip Ghosh instead of his termination.
