BJP Leaders Support Family of 12-Year-Old Girl in Ayodhya
Accusations Against Samajwadi Party Leader Moeed Khan
In Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, BJP Rajya Sabha member Sangeeta Balwant met the family of a 12-year-old girl who was allegedly raped. The main accused in this case is Samajwadi Party leader Moeed Khan. Balwant assured the family that Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken action against the accused and promised that justice will be served.
BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla criticized Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav for his silence on the matter. Poonawalla accused Yadav of trying to protect the accused by demanding a DNA test and claimed that Samajwadi Party goons threatened the victim’s family at the hospital.
Another BJP member, Baburam Nishad, also met the victim’s family and promised to submit a report to the national leadership. Nishad requested that the financial compensation for the victim’s family be increased from Rs 5 lakh to Rs 25 lakh.
JD(U) spokesperson KC Tyagi confirmed that an FIR has been registered against the Samajwadi Party leaders, who have been arrested and are being interrogated. Tyagi urged Akhilesh Yadav not to protect anyone until the investigation is complete.
The Ayodhya district administration demolished Moeed Khan’s illegally constructed bakery. Khan and his house help were accused of raping and blackmailing the girl, who worked as a daily wage employee at Khan’s home. Khan was arrested on Thursday for raping the girl over two months and for allegedly threatening her family to settle the case.
