New Delhi, June 30: Amid the ongoing controversy over the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Shazia Ilmi stated that Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has taken moral responsibility for the issue. She emphasized the need for serious discussions rather than political blame games, noting the impact on students and their parents.

Ilmi reiterated that the BJP and the Central government are open to discussions to find a solution. Meanwhile, BJP leader Ravi Shankar Prasad mentioned that the government is actively taking action, with arrests being made in connection to the issue.

New NEET-PG Dates to Be Announced

Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced that new dates for the NEET-PG exam, which was canceled as a precautionary measure, will be revealed by Monday or Tuesday next week.

Opposition’s Demands

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh criticized the National Testing Agency (NTA) for conducting tests through private companies and demanded Pradhan’s resignation. He highlighted that the issue extends beyond NEET to other educational institutions under the Ministry of Education.

CBI Investigations

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested multiple individuals in connection with the NEET-UG paper leak case. The investigation revealed irregularities in the exam conducted on May 5, 2024, which saw an unprecedented number of perfect scores, leading to widespread protests.
