BJP Leaders Protest Against High Electricity Bills and Lack of Clean Water in Delhi

On Sunday, Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva, along with other party leaders and workers, protested against the AAP-led Delhi government. They condemned the government for high electricity bills and not providing clean drinking water to slum dwellers in Delhi.

High Electricity Bills

BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri, representing the South Delhi constituency, criticized the Kejriwal-led government for the exorbitant electricity bills received by shopkeepers in various slums. He stated, “If you ask the slum dwellers, they themselves get a high electricity bill, they get anywhere between Rs 4000 to Rs 6000 bill every month. Those who have a house meter they get a bill anywhere from Rs 1200 to Rs 3000.”

Lack of Basic Amenities

Bidhuri also claimed that slum dwellers are not getting proper drinking water, ration cards, or old age pensions. He said, “From the last six years the Arvind Kejriwal government has stopped giving out ration cards. From the last six to seven years, the poor people, our old people are not getting their old age pensions from the government.”

Healthcare and Education Issues

The MP further criticized the Delhi government for not implementing the Ayushman Bharat scheme properly, which provides free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh. He added, “The Delhi government has not opened any dispensaries, nor opened any new hospital, or even a new primary school has been opened.”

Assurance from BJP Leaders

Sachdeva also spoke about the various grievances faced by people in Delhi and assured that they would try their best to solve the problems presented, while he checked the high electricity and water bills presented by the people.
