BJP Leaders Switch to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha
In Ranchi, Jharkhand, some BJP leaders, including Lois Marandi and Kunal Sarangi, have left the party to join the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). BJP spokesperson Pratul Shah Deo described them as “dejected and rejected” individuals seeking new opportunities. He emphasized that the BJP remains strong and focused on development, despite these departures.
Reasons for Leaving
Lois Marandi, a former BJP Vice President, expressed her dissatisfaction with the party’s decision to field her in Barhait instead of Dumka, where she had dedicated 24 years. She felt ignored and sought a platform to serve the people, which she found in JMM.
Kunal Sarangi criticized the BJP, alleging that promotion within the party required “degrees in corruption” and sycophancy. He returned to JMM, where he began his political journey, feeling more aligned with its values.
Upcoming Elections
Jharkhand will hold elections in two phases on November 13 and 20, with results announced on November 23. Chief Minister Hemant Soren announced that the I.N.D.I.A alliance, including JMM and Congress, will contest 70 of the 81 seats, with discussions ongoing for the remaining seats.
