New Delhi, India, June 28: BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad, a member of the party’s fact-finding team investigating post-poll violence in West Bengal, has alleged that ‘Taliban Raj’ has been established in the state. He claimed there is a complete violation of women’s rights and that the police are inactive.

Prasad stated, “‘Taliban Raj’ has been established in West Bengal…The police are not doing anything…Even the media is not allowed to enter villages…The leaders of the opposition alliance are not saying anything about the atrocity…There is complete violation of women’s rights in West Bengal.”

Similarly, BJP MP Biplab Kumar Deb accused the ruling TMC of establishing a ‘jungle Raj’ and claimed that the police are acting as TMC cadres.

The BJP’s fact-finding team submitted its report to BJP President JP Nadda, detailing the violence against BJP workers and vandalism of their offices following the 2024 Lok Sabha election results.

West Bengal’s Leader of Opposition, Suvendu Adhikari, welcomed the Calcutta High Court’s decision to allow the Central Government to deploy Central Armed Paramilitary Forces in West Bengal to protect victims of post-poll violence. Adhikari called the decision historic and a failure of the state machinery.

Reports of post-poll violence have emerged from several areas in West Bengal, where BJP workers were allegedly beaten and their offices vandalised after the Lok Sabha 2024 results were announced.
