BJP Leader Shazia Ilmi Criticizes Congress-AAP Alliance in Haryana
New Delhi, India – Amid speculations of an AAP-Congress alliance in Haryana for the upcoming elections, BJP leader Shazia Ilmi stated on Monday that this discussion shows Congress is scared and nervous, lacking confidence in their candidates. She said, “Their arrogance has gone. Now, it is clear that the Congress party, which was repeatedly saying that our government will be formed, has become nervous and scared and needs the support of the Aam Aadmi Party.”
Ilmi also commented on former Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat joining Congress, saying she is a superstar but speaks from one side. Ilmi suggested Phogat would be more credible if she asked Priyanka Gandhi to support Abhaya, a victim of rape and murder, despite the state government being an ally.
Reacting to Bajrang Punia’s remarks on Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini, Ilmi said the CM would decide his own seat. She criticized Punia’s statements, saying they don’t suit a senior sports star.
On September 6, Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia joined Congress, with Phogat fielded as a candidate from Julana and Punia appointed as the working president of the All India Kisan Congress. The Haryana Assembly Elections will be held on October 5, with results on October 8.
