BJP Leader Shaina NC Responds to Nana Patole’s Criticism of Atal Setu in Mumbai
On June 22, BJP leader Shaina NC addressed Maharashtra Congress president Nana Patole’s comments about the Atal Setu bridge in Mumbai. Shaina NC highlighted the Mahayuti government’s efforts in infrastructure projects, including the trans harbour link, metro, coastal road, and Atal Setu, which benefit many people in Mumbai and surrounding areas.
Shaina NC suggested that if Nana Patole has significant issues with the bridge, he should avoid using it. She emphasized that engineers are diligently working on any minor issues, such as small cracks.
Nana Patole had accused the BJP and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena government of corruption in the construction of the Atal Setu, pointing out cracks in the approach road. He questioned the government’s commitment to safety and transparency.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) clarified that the minor cracks found on the approach road, not the bridge itself, do not pose any structural threat. The contractor, Strabag, has begun repairs, which will be completed within 24 hours without disrupting traffic.
