BJP Leader Shahnawaz Hussain Criticizes Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Over MUDA Scam

New Delhi, India – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Syed Shahnawaz Hussain has called for the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, accusing him of involvement in the MUDA scam. Hussain stated that Siddaramaiah should step down if he has ‘any morality left.’

Hussain’s Remarks

Hussain criticized Siddaramaiah, saying, ‘Siddaramaiah cannot be saved in the MUDA scam now. Lokayukt has registered an FIR. Now even if a little bit of morality is left, then he should resign. He should not implement the Kejriwal model. Kejriwal did not resign after going to jail. The leaders of the INDI alliance think that that model can be implemented… But the people of Karnataka are demanding his resignation.’

Additional Criticism from BJP

BJP national spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari also attacked Siddaramaiah, alleging that Rs 55 crores were given to his wife and son. Bhandari said, ‘The people of Karnataka see Siddaramaiah as a corrupt CM. After the ill benefit of Rs. 55 crores were given to his wife and son… the Karnataka CM has no right to be on his chair.’

Congress’s Response

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari defended Siddaramaiah, accusing the BJP of trying to seize power in Karnataka using central government agencies. Tiwari stated, ‘Our CM Siddaramaiah is known for his integrity and work; false allegations are being levelled against him, and agencies are being misused. We are firm that he is innocent and we will fight till the last breath with the BJP government.’

CPI’s Stand

CPI MP P Sandosh Kumar also criticized the BJP, saying, ‘Law should take its own course so no political party or no organisation can prevent it… Those who are grabbing people’s money should be punished… I think Siddaramaiah is not a corrupt man… They (BJP) want to tarnish the image of those leading politicians on the opposition front.’

Legal Proceedings

Earlier, a Special Court in Bengaluru ordered the Karnataka Lokayukta to investigate allegations against Siddaramaiah regarding the illegal allotment of 14 sites worth Rs 56 crore to his wife Parvathi by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA). The investigation report is to be submitted in three months.
