Mumbai, Maharashtra – BJP leader Satyapal Singh expressed confidence in winning the upcoming assembly elections. He highlighted the government’s investment of Rs850 crores to tackle cybercrime and ensure security in the state. Singh emphasized the BJP’s commitment to “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas” and noted that terrorism is largely under control, with some incidents in Jammu Kashmir and Punjab.

Maharashtra’s Political Landscape

Maharashtra has 288 assembly constituencies. The BJP is part of the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). A total of 4,426 nomination papers from 3,259 candidates have been filed for the elections, scheduled for November 20, with vote counting on November 23.

Past Election Results

In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, the Shiv Sena 56, and the Congress 44. In 2014, the BJP secured 122 seats, the Shiv Sena 63, and the Congress 42. The opposition MVA, consisting of Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and the Nationalist Congress Party (SCP), aims to regain power against the Mahayuti alliance.
