Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Rohtash Jangra has withdrawn his nomination from the Sirsa constituency ahead of the Haryana Assembly Polls, which are scheduled for October 5.

Speaking about his decision, Jangra said, “I have withdrawn my nomination papers from the Sirsa assembly constituency following the orders of the party. I filed my nomination on the orders of the party and I am now withdrawing my name on their orders as well.”

BJP leader Ashok Tanwar also commented on the matter, stating, “It was the decision of the party and Rohtash Jangra has withdrawn his nomination papers. Our main aim is to keep the state away from the Congress’s politics of lies and deception. His family has been dedicated to the service of the nation and the BJP for the past 45 years. The next course of action will be decided in the meeting.”

Voting for the 90-member legislative assembly in Haryana will be held on October 5, and the last date for filing nominations was September 12. The counting of votes will be held on October 8. In the 2019 assembly polls, the BJP became the single-largest party with 40 seats, while Congress won 30 seats.
