BJP Leader Ravneet Singh Bittu Calls Rahul Gandhi ‘Number 1 Terrorist’

BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu recently made a controversial statement, calling Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi a ‘number 1 terrorist’. Bittu’s remarks were in response to Congress’s silence over Khalistani separatist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun’s support for Gandhi’s comments on Sikhs during his US visit.

In a video, Bittu said, ‘When Rahul Gandhi said something against Sikhs, he was supported by the biggest enemy of the country, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, who is conducting a referendum for Khalistan. I waited for two days thinking that Congress might condemn this and distance itself from Pannun’s remarks. When you did not say this, then I said that it is clear that Mallikarjun Kharge and Congress leaders are standing with Pannun.’

Reacting to Bittu’s remarks, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu criticized the BJP, suggesting that Bittu’s comments were politically motivated to gain attention during election time. Sukhu said, ‘Ravneet Singh Bittu used to praise Rahul Gandhi when he was an MP from Congress in Punjab. Now he has become a Minister in the BJP government without being a Member of Parliament.’

Rahul Gandhi had commented on the condition of the Sikh community in India, which was supported by Pannun, a declared terrorist in India. Pannun called Gandhi’s statement ‘bold and pioneering’.

Following Bittu’s remarks, Congress filed a police complaint against him and protested in Delhi. Congress leaders, including Delhi unit chief Devender Yadav, were detained during the protest. Bittu further accused Gandhi of being unpatriotic and supported by separatists.
