Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir unit President Ravinder Raina has condemned the recent terror attack in Kathua, stating that the terrorists responsible will face severe consequences. He emphasized that their plans will be thwarted and praised the bravery of the soldiers who have been defending the nation.

Following the attack, security has been tightened along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. The attack, which occurred on June 8, resulted in the deaths of five army soldiers. An encounter between troops and terrorists is still ongoing in the area.

In response to the attack, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and Jammu and Kashmir police have been deployed along the National Highway (NH44) in Udhampur. This is to ensure the safety of the 11th batch of Amarnath Yatra pilgrims passing through the area.

Five soldiers injured in the attack have been referred to the Military Hospital in Pathankot for further treatment. Medical Officer Sheela Devi confirmed that one dead body and five injured soldiers were brought to the Community Health Centre in Billawar.

Since June 9, there have been multiple terror strikes in Reasi, Kathua, and Doda, resulting in the deaths of nine pilgrims and a CRPF jawan, with several others injured. Union Home Minister Amit Shah has chaired a review meeting on the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, directing all security agencies to work in a coordinated manner for a quick response.
