BJP Leader Nandkishore Verma Accused of Assaulting Woman in Indore

Nandkishore Verma, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Chairman of the state Kesh Shilpi Mandal, has been accused of assaulting and using abusive language towards a woman in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place on September 16 under the jurisdiction of Rau police station.

Details of the Incident

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the woman went to the police station with a video on Monday, September 16. She reported that she had an old property dispute with her brother-in-law, Nandkishore Verma. When she went to her hotel for cleaning purposes, Verma allegedly scuffled with her and used abusive language.

Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) Rubina Mizwani stated, “A woman came to the police station with a video on Monday and said that she had an old dispute regarding property. When she reached her hotel yesterday for cleaning purposes, her brother-in-law Nandkishore Verma had scuffled with her and hurled abusive words.”

Woman’s Statement

The complainant told the police, “I went to my hotel with my brother to get it cleaned and my brother-in-law Nandkishore Verma was already sitting at the hotel. We have old family disputes and on seeing me he asked why I had come here and started questioning my character. When I asked him why he was saying that, he started abusing and pushing me. My brother and others saw the incident and tried to intervene. My brother-in-law Nandkishore also threatened that if I came here again, he would kill me.”

The case has been registered under sections 296, 115 (2) and 351 (2) of Bhartiya Nyay Sahita (BNS), 2023. Further proceedings into the matter are underway.
