Senior Congress leader V Hanumantha Rao commented, “When the ED is conducting the investigation. The truth will come out after the investigation is done. Giving such a statement is not correct…KTR is making such statements to demoralise the Congress government in Karnataka.”

Earlier, K T Rama Rao raised questions on “ED’s silence” on the Valmiki scam, asking, “Who is protecting Congress here.” In a post on X, KTR listed a series of questions related to the scam, including the transfer of Rs. 45 Cr to nine bank account holders in Hyderabad and Rs. 4.5 Cr to ‘V6 Business’.

KTR also questioned the suppression of news in Telangana and the connection of bars and gold shops with the Congress party during the Lok Sabha Elections. He highlighted that Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah admitted to Rs. 90 Cr being embezzled in the scam and questioned the implications of Karnataka Minister Satish Jarakiholi’s statement about the Telangana government.

The Valmiki scam involves the alleged illegal transfer of funds by the Siddaramiah-led Karnataka Government from the Maharshi Valmiki ST Corporation, which is responsible for welfare programmes for scheduled tribe members. The ED investigation revealed that the funds were allegedly diverted to fake accounts in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
