BJP Leader Madhavi Latha Prays at Mahakaleshwar Temple
BJP leader Madhavi Latha visited the Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. She offered prayers at the temple after losing to Asaduddin Owaisi in Hyderabad by a margin of more than three lakh votes. Owaisi received 6,61,981 votes, while Latha got 3,23,894 votes.
This was the first time the BJP had fielded a female candidate from the Hyderabad constituency in the Lok Sabha elections. Madhavi Latha is the chairperson of Virinchi Hospitals and the founder of the Lopamudra Charitable Trust and the LathaMa Foundation. Her charitable trust, based in Hyderabad, organizes various healthcare, education, and food distribution initiatives.
In the recent Lok Sabha elections, the BJP and Congress each won eight seats in Telangana, while AIMIM won one seat. The results were declared on Tuesday. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BRS (then TRS) won nine of 17 seats, while the BJP and Congress bagged four and three seats, respectively.
