BJP Leader Kirit Somaiya Applauds Maharashtra’s Decision to Raise Madrasa Teacher Salaries

In Mumbai, Maharashtra, BJP leader Kirit Somaiya expressed his support for the Maharashtra Cabinet’s decision to increase the salaries of D.Ed and B.Ed teachers in Madrasas. He emphasized that the BJP considers education and health as secular issues that go beyond religious boundaries. Somaiya stated, “Salaries of teachers who educate our coming generations have been raised. Education and health are the responsibilities of the government. When working in this area, the BJP doesn’t see which religion one belongs to.”

The Maharashtra Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, approved the salary increase for D.Ed. and B.Ed. teachers in Madrasas. The decision also included raising the share capital of the Maulana Azad Minority Economic Development Corporation from Rs 700 crores to Rs 1,000 crores. Currently, D.Ed. teachers receive Rs 6,000 per month, which will be increased to Rs 16,000 per month.

Additionally, the state Cabinet, under CM Shinde’s leadership, passed a resolution urging the central government to award the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honor, to the late veteran industrialist Ratan Tata, who passed away on Wednesday in Mumbai, in recognition of his contributions.
