BJP Leader CT Ravi Highlights Benefits of Union Budget 2024 for Karnataka

BJP leader CT Ravi stated that every state will benefit from the infrastructure funds allocated in the Union Budget 2024. He mentioned the government’s plan to set up 12 industrial parks, which will benefit Karnataka.

CT Ravi said, “When there was UPA government in the country, the Indian economy was at the 11th position in the world. Now, it is the 5th largest economy in the world. Every state of India will benefit from the amount allocated for infrastructure. Under the PM Awas Yojana 4 crore houses have been allocated, 3 crore in villages and 1 crore in cities. The government made announcements to establish 12 industrial parks in the country.”

He also mentioned that Union Minister HD Kumaraswamy, the Heavy Industries and Steel Minister, will ensure Karnataka benefits from these initiatives. Ravi alleged that during the elections, Congress was involved in a scam related to a Rs 2000 crore road construction tender.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a Rs 10 lakh crore investment under the PM Awas Yojana Urban 2.0 while presenting the Union Budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. She said, “Under the PM Awas Yojna, Urban 2.0, housing needs of 1 crore urban poor and middle-class families will be addressed with an investment of Rs 10 lakh crore. This will include central assistance of Rs 2.2 lakh crore in the next 5 years.”

Sitharaman outlined nine key priorities in her seventh consecutive Union Budget, aimed at fostering economic growth and creating opportunities. These priorities include productivity and resilience in agriculture, employment and skilling, inclusive human resource development and social justice, manufacturing and services, urban development, energy security, infrastructure, innovation, research and development, and next-generation reforms.

The first priority includes raising productivity and climate-resilient varieties, supporting 2 crore farmers in the next 2 years, and large-scale clusters for vegetable production. A digital crop survey will be conducted in 400 districts this year, and Jan Samarth-based certificates will be issued.

Sitharaman emphasized that subsequent budgets will build on these priorities to generate ample opportunities for all.
