BJP Leader CR Kesavan Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Speech in Lok Sabha

Chennai (Tamil Nadu) [India], July 2: BJP leader CR Kesavan has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s first speech in the Lok Sabha, calling it a ‘toxic rant’. Kesavan accused Gandhi of distorting facts and misleading the House.

During his speech on Monday, Rahul Gandhi targeted the BJP, claiming that those who call themselves Hindus indulge in hate and violence. This led to protests from BJP members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh.

Kesavan stated that Gandhi’s speech showed a lack of maturity and responsibility. He demanded that Gandhi apologize to followers of the Hindu faith, other religions, and the armed forces for his remarks.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, requesting the restoration of remarks expunged from his speech. Gandhi argued that his speech conveyed the ground reality and that expunging his remarks was against parliamentary democracy.

Gandhi also highlighted the speech of BJP MP Anurag Thakur, noting that only one word from Thakur’s speech was expunged despite it being full of allegations. Gandhi requested that his expunged remarks be restored.
