BJP Demands Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah’s Resignation Over MUDA Scam Investigation

Bengaluru, Karnataka – BJP leaders and workers are planning to protest at Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s official residence, demanding his resignation. This comes after the Karnataka High Court dismissed Siddaramaiah’s plea challenging the governor’s sanction to investigate him in the alleged MUDA scam.

The Congress party has ruled out Siddaramaiah’s resignation, accusing the BJP of misusing the governor’s office. They also stated that Siddaramaiah will appeal against the High Court’s decision.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah claims that the BJP and JD(S) are targeting him because of his pro-poor schemes and social justice initiatives. He expressed confidence in the law and the Constitution, stating, “Ultimately, the truth will prevail in this fight.”

The High Court’s single judge bench, led by Justice Nagaprasanna, upheld the governor’s sanction for the investigation, stating it did not suffer from non-application of mind. The investigation concerns the alleged illegal allotment of 14 sites by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) to Siddaramaiah’s wife.

Despite the High Court’s decision, Siddaramaiah remains determined to fight the legal battle and emerge stronger. Meanwhile, BJP leaders argue that the Chief Minister has lost his moral standing to remain in office.
