Tibrewal criticized the urgency of the postmortem and accused the police of refusing to file an FIR when requested by the parents. She described the incident as “sad and heinous” and expressed her desire to represent the family as a lawyer, but was denied entry to the postmortem premises.
Demands for Justice
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha also protested in North Kolkata, demanding justice for the girl, who was allegedly raped and killed. Agnimitra Paul criticized the local police for not filing an FIR and demanded a postmortem at a central government hospital. She called for a CBI inquiry and the death penalty for the accused, urging the Chief Minister to take responsibility.
