BJP Criticizes Congress Over Treatment of Mallikarjun Kharge

Priyanka Gandhi’s Nomination in Wayanad Sparks Controversy

In New Delhi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has raised concerns over the treatment of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge during Priyanka Gandhi Vadra’s nomination filing in Wayanad. BJP National Spokesperson CR Kesavan expressed shock at the alleged humiliation of Kharge, a senior Dalit leader, by the Congress Party. Kesavan criticized the Congress for being anti-Dalit and prioritizing vote bank politics over the interests of marginalized communities.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also criticized the Congress, accusing the party of practicing untouchability and treating Dalits as third-class citizens. He claimed that the incident involving Kharge exposed the Congress’s true stance on Dalit participation.

Priyanka Gandhi filed her nomination papers at the district collector’s office in Kalpetta, Kerala, following a roadshow and public rally with her brother Rahul Gandhi. The Wayanad seat was vacated by Rahul Gandhi, who retained the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha Constituency. The by-election in Wayanad is set for November 13.
