BJP Councillor Aparna Patil Fights Against Public Drinking in Gwalior
In Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, BJP councillor Aparna Patil has taken a stand against public drinking by making a video of people consuming alcohol on a main road in her area. She shared the video on social media, urging action against this behavior. Patil, representing ward 58, highlighted that despite the Chief Minister’s order to close all Ahatas (open drinking areas), the road from Chandrabani Naka to the Divisional Commissioner’s Office has become a drinking spot.
Patil expressed her concerns, noting that the road is frequented by students and residents, including women and children, from nearby colleges and colonies. She mentioned that complaints from locals prompted her to address the issue, as previous discussions with the police administration were ignored. Patil warned that if no action is taken within seven days, she will protest at the SP office.
Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar Sagar confirmed that instructions have been given to the police to prevent public drinking and take legal action against violators. He assured that reports of violations would be sent to the government for further action against contractors.
