BJP Appoints Ram Madhav and G Kishan Reddy for Jammu and Kashmir Elections

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has appointed former general secretary Ram Madhav and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy as election in-charges for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. The appointments were made by BJP chief and Union Minister JP Nadda.

Election Schedule

The Election Commission has issued the notification for the first phase of the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, marking the start of the nomination process. Voting will be held on 24 seats in the Union Territory in the first phase on September 18. The last date for filing nominations for the first phase is August 27, with scrutiny on August 28 and the last date for withdrawal of candidature on August 30.

The polling will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, covering a total of 90 assembly constituencies. The last assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir was held in 2014.

Other Elections

The Election Commission has also announced that assembly polls in Haryana will be held on October 1. Votes for both Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana will be counted on October 4.

three phases -: Three phases mean that the elections will be held on three different days, covering different areas each time.

filing nominations -: Filing nominations means that people who want to run in the election must officially sign up by a certain date.

Haryana -: Haryana is another state in India. Its assembly elections will also have their results announced on the same day as Jammu and Kashmir’s.
