BJP Announces First List of Candidates for Jammu and Kashmir Elections

The BJP has released a list of 15 candidates for the first phase of the Jammu and Kashmir elections. BJP state president Ravinder Raina confirmed that the party will soon release a second list of candidates. He emphasized that the party will contest the elections independently and is also in talks with some independent candidates.

Arshid Bhat, the candidate from Rajpora Assembly constituency in Pulwama district, expressed his gratitude towards the party and PM Modi. He stated, “I am thankful to PM Modi as he recognized my efforts in social service and gave me this opportunity to be the voice of the people in Pulwama.”

Er Syed Showkat Gayoor Andrabi, the candidate from Pampore Assembly constituency, also thanked the party for their confidence in him. He mentioned his long-standing dedication to political activism and his work for the people.

The elections in Jammu and Kashmir will be conducted in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1, with the counting of votes scheduled for October 4. There are a total of 90 assembly constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir, with 7 seats reserved for SCs and 9 seats reserved for STs.
