BJP Announces Candidates for Jammu and Kashmir Elections
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its first list of candidates for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir elections. These elections will be held in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1.
Candidate List
The first list includes 15 candidates, representing various communities and castes from both the Jammu and Kashmir regions. The candidates are:

- Javed Ahmad Qadri from Shopian
- Mohd. Rafiq Wani from Anantnag West
- Syed Wazahat from Anantnag
- Veer Saraf from Shangus-Anantnag East
- Sofi Yousuf from Srigufwara-Bijbehara
- Tariq Keen from Inderwal
- Salim Bhat from Banihal
- Shagun Parihar from Kishtwar (the only woman candidate)
- Sunil Sharma from Padder-Nagseni
- Daleep Singh Parihar from Bhadarwah
- Gajay Singh Rana from Doda
- Shakti Raj Parihar from Doda West
- Rakesh Thakur from Ramban
- Choudhary Roshan Hussain Gujjar from Kokernag
Election Details
The Election Commission has issued a notification for the first phase of elections, which will cover 24 seats. This will be the first assembly election since the abrogation of Article 370. The votes will be counted on October 4.
Previous Election Results
In the Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year, the BJP won both seats in Jammu, showing strong support in the region. The National Conference also won two seats.
