BJD Leader Prasanna Acharya Urges Odisha CM Mohan Majhi to Address Key Issues

BJD Vice President and Senior MLA Prasanna Acharya has called on Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to focus on two important issues for Odisha: the demand for special category status and the revision of coal royalty rates. Acharya emphasized the need for these issues to be raised during the CM’s meetings in Delhi.

Acharya also criticized the BJP for appointing a non-Odia Chief Secretary, questioning if this decision reflects Odisha’s pride. He stated, “Chief Secretary appointment is the prerogative of the government. But the BJP saying Odisha pride. Is this Odisha’s pride (Non-odia CS appointment)? BJP did the diversion. BJP broke the tradition of CS appointment.”

Earlier, CM Majhi and Deputy Chief Ministers Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo and Pravati Parida met with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. Jaishankar expressed his confidence in Odisha’s growth and assured support in promoting tourism and international linkages.

Additionally, Majhi and his deputies met with Union Minister and BJP President JP Nadda. They also had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday.
