Patna (Bihar), September 25: The Bihar Museum in Patna is set to host an exhibition of paintings by poet, artist, and diplomat Abhay K from October 1-10. The exhibition will focus on the Buddhist philosophy of Shunyata, which means Emptiness or Insubstance.

Inauguration by Deputy Chief Minister

The exhibition will be inaugurated by Vijay Kumar Sinha, the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, on October 1.

Director General’s Note

Anjani Kumar Singh, Director General of Bihar Museum, expressed his excitement about the exhibition, stating, “Abhay K has exhibited his paintings in several countries. However, it is his first exhibition in his home state of Bihar, and we are delighted to host his debut exhibition, ‘Shunyata’, at Bihar Museum, Patna.”

Abhay K’s Statement

Abhay K shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It is a matter of immense pride for me to get the opportunity to exhibit my art works at the State of the Art Bihar Museum. I’m very excited about exhibiting my art works in my home state of Bihar, where the philosophy of Shunyata took birth.”

About Abhay K

Abhay K is a poet, editor, translator, artist, and diplomat. He has authored several poetry collections and edited six books, including The Book of Bihari Literature. His poems have appeared in over a hundred literary magazines worldwide, and his ‘Earth Anthem’ has been translated into over 160 languages. He received the SAARC Literary Award in 2013 and recorded his poems at the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C., in 2018. His translations of Kalidasa’s Meghaduta and Ritusamhara won him the KLF Poetry Book of the Year Award in 2020-21. His painting exhibitions have been held in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
