Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary to Dedicate Turban to Lord Ram

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP leader Samrat Choudhary announced that he will remove his turban and dedicate it to Lord Ram. Choudhary had vowed to wear the turban until Nitish Kumar resigned as Chief Minister. After Kumar rejoined the NDA, Choudhary decided to fulfill his vow.

Background

In 2022, Nitish Kumar left the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) to join the Mahagathbandhan. In response, Choudhary started wearing a turban, pledging to remove it only after Kumar’s resignation. Kumar rejoined the NDA in January this year, marking his fifth political switch in ten years and his ninth term as Chief Minister.

Choudhary’s Vow

Choudhary stated, “True that I had pledged to wear the turban until I made Nitish Kumar resign as the Chief Minister. But now that he has switched back to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) after resigning as the Chief Minister of the INDI-Alliance, it is time for me to dedicate this turban to the feet of Lord Ram.”

Upcoming Event

Choudhary will travel to Ayodhya today and place his turban in the Ram Temple tomorrow after shaving his head.
