Akhilesh Prasad Singh, the president of the Bihar Congress, has expressed strong confidence that the Opposition INDIA alliance will emerge victorious in the upcoming Assembly elections in Jharkhand and Maharashtra. He stated, “INDIA alliance will contest the elections and win. The alliance will form governments in both the states.”

Tejashwi Yadav’s Determination

Tejashwi Yadav, former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), emphasized the alliance’s commitment to winning all elections and defeating the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Jharkhand. He mentioned, “There are by-elections on 4 assembly seats in Bihar. There are elections in Maharashtra and Jharkhand as well. Our effort will be to win all the elections…”

Election Schedule Announced

The Election Commission has announced that Jharkhand will hold assembly polls in two phases on November 13 and 20, while Maharashtra will have a single-phase election on November 20. The counting of votes for both states will occur on November 23.

Additional By-elections

By-elections are also scheduled for 48 assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats. These include 47 assembly constituencies and one parliamentary constituency in Wayanad, Kerala, on November 13, and one assembly constituency in Uttarakhand and the Nanded Lok Sabha seat in Maharashtra on November 20. Votes for these will also be counted on November 23.
